Ramtech Constructs Modular Sales Office for Payne Mitsubishi in Brownsville, TX
Last month Ramtech had the opportunity to photograph the new Mitsubishi sales office we built for Payne Auto Group at their Brownsville, TX location prior to the facility’s Thanksgiving weekend opening. Payne sought to strengthen its dealership network in the rapidly growing Rio Grande Valley area of South Texas by adding a new Mitsubishi sales office adjacent to their Volkswagen dealership. The company was required to have a standalone facility which became the fifth project that they contracted with Ramtech to build. We adapted the previous modular sales office designs we developed for them to deliver a value-engineered solution that provided scaled cost savings for both the current building and any future expansions.
The facility features private offices, a spacious showroom, customer lounge, and service support areas, with all interior finishes adhering to the Mitsubishi Motors Visual Identity Manual. The site-completed elements include corporate signage, an extended fascia, a covered service carport, and an illuminated entrance gate with LED feature lighting that enhances brand visibility along the main highway frontage road.
The building was crane-set on a modified pier-and-beam foundation and engineered for Texas Department of Insurance Wind Zone 1 (140 mph) standards and includes a zero-step threshold to bring the building flush to grade. The centerpiece of the new facility is the indoor showroom which can display two vehicles on the tiled floor and is reinforced with supplemental would joist sub-girts which can support concentrated live loads over 6,000 lbs. per vehicle.

Ramtech Completes Permanent Modular Building for U.S. Aviation Academy
Ramtech recently returned to the aircraft maintenance and flight training facility we constructed for U.S. Aviation Academy in San Marcos, TX. Ramtech installed a 6,962 sq ft permanent modular building adjacent to the company’s existing hangar at San Marcos Regional Airport. The L-shaped building incorporates an indented wall to clear the hangar door frame while also optimizing the interior spatial efficiency. It includes five classrooms, four offices, a conference room, and breakroom area. The exterior features a faux stone wainscot with a full-height entry feature wall for refined curb appeal look.
The installation of the building overcame very tight access by using an 8,000-lb extended boom forklift in tandem with TransLift carriers.
