Ramtech recently returned to the aircraft maintenance and flight training facility we constructed for U.S. Aviation Academy in San Marcos, TX. Ramtech installed a 6,962 sq ft permanent modular building adjacent to the company’s existing hangar at San Marcos Regional Airport. The L-shaped building incorporates an indented wall to clear the hangar door frame while also optimizing the interior spatial efficiency. It includes five classrooms, four offices, a conference room, and breakroom area. The exterior features a faux stone wainscot with a full-height entry feature wall for refined curb appeal look.
The installation of the building overcame very tight access by using an 8,000-lb extended boom forklift in tandem with TransLift carriers.
This allowed a precise setting of the modules on CMU block piers over a pad-on-grade foundation. The building is compliant with the 2015 IECC, and incorporates R-30 roof/floor and R-21 wall insulation, high-efficiency Bard wall-mounted HVAC units, and a reflective 60-mil white EPDM roof for reduced energy consumption in the Texas climate.
