Assessing IgCC’s Affect on Modular Buildings
The first public version of the International Green Construction Code was made available in March of 2010 and immediately started a firestorm in the Commercial Modular Building Industry. Modular as well as other forms of pre-fab buildings always view new codes and regulations with a wary eye for the simple reason that the framers of these documents never consider alternative forms of construction when authoring new codes. Permanent Modular Construction: A Means to Fund School Construction
Most public school districts in Texas are growing in attendance, but their revenue is dropping as property taxes fall and state and federal funding are reduced. While the Texas Association of School Board’s website outlines a number of resources available to fund school construction, many fast-growing Texas districts are forced to make difficult choices. Fort Bliss Combat Aviation Brigade Occupies First of Three Modular Buildings from Ramtech
The U.S. Army has recently occupied the first of a series of permanent modular buildings developed and built by design-build construction firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, Texas. Located in the Biggs Army Airfield section of the sprawling Fort Bliss military base, the two-story 99,050 square foot Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) building is one of three prefabricated buildings that Ramtech will provide under the company’s Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
