Construction activity is progressing smoothly and on schedule for the two permanent modular buildings for the Blue Ridge Independent School District in Blue Ridge, Texas. Both facilities are utilizing Ramtech’s Accelerated Building System which provides the speed, quality, and flexibility of prefabricated building components combined with the durability of an engineered slab-on-grade concrete foundation.
The 18,088 square foot single-story middle school facility is now approximately 65% complete and is scheduled to be finished by mid-September. Due to the occupancy sequencing required by the District, the middle school project was started first. This facility will provide for 13 standard classrooms, a science classroom with prep room, administrative office space, book storage, computer server room, janitor’s area, and restrooms for students and staff. The all masonry exterior will match the existing high school and features a parapet wall profile and a radius metal canopy at the entrance. The site work elements include curb and gutters, a 64 space parking lot, sidewalks, and all the utilities.
Site work for the 28,014 square foot two-story elementary school began at the beginning of the summer recess since the building will consolidate and replace several older and smaller facilities within the new buildings footprint that were still in use during the school year. Ramtech has completed all of the demolition and soils work and the drilling of the piers for the concrete foundation will soon be underway. The manufacturing of the modular building components are approximately 90% complete and will be installed on the foundation by the first week in August. The structure will provide for 17 standard classrooms, two science classrooms, a computer lab, library administration space, book storage, server room, a janitor’s room, and restrooms for the students and staff. There will also be three enclosed stairways as well as a 2,500 pound hydraulic elevator. The exterior features a large canopy at the main entrance and a 100% masonry parapet wall profile that will match the existing elementary school cafeteria. The site work elements include soil remediation combined with constructing a building pad that captures 17 feet of fall, retaining walls, curb and gutters, a 134 space parking lot, bus turn-around and drop-off, sidewalks, and all utilities. Projected completion of the elementary school is slated for December of this year.
